The beginning

It was a calm evening in South Delhi

Kunj Aggarwal, a 13 years old boy who just enrolled in a new school this morning in 9th class

Now looking at the time - 4:45pm

He sighed and took his bag , going for maths class

He didn't want to go to any tuition coz he knew he doesn't need it . He was happy to study himself and his grades was not even bad for his father to force him to attend tuition classes

He reached the institute

Greet the teacher, a mid 20s girl, she knew him and his family very well. Kunj calls her Didi

She said to Kunj

"Come and sit on first seat"

Kunj passed the room and sat on the first seat

Opened his notebook

He looked around the room

There were more girls than boys

He thought 'Its better not to chit chat with them'

He did what Didi told him to do

He was just waiting for the hour to pass quickly so that he can go back home and then play cricket with his friends

When the clock hit 6pm

Didi said to Kunj "Tommorow is your first day in new school, don't create any mess and you better behave there"

Kunj said " Papa said the same thing"

He stood and came out of the institute and said to himself "Behave.....my foot"

He was walking back to home when someone shouted his name from behind, he turned around and see a girl running toward him. Kunj stopped walking. That girl stood in front of him and said

"Why do you walk so fast?"

Kunj said "Who are you?"

The girl replied "Are you blind or just ignorant? Huh..."

She continued "Well...I am Anika Thakur, same batch as yours in tuition, let's walk together. I am also going this way."

They started walking

Anika said "So... You know Didi?"

Kunj said "She is related to our distant family and close to my Papa, so yeah I know her."

Anika said "Why do you look so quiet?"

Kunj said "Did I ask you, Why do you talk so much?"

Anika said "Okky fine , don't need to be rude. You don't even look rude."

Kunj said "Where do you live?"

Anika replied "the lane towards the temple. And you?"

Kunj said "Turn left to that temple then Straight and the 5th house is mine."

Anika laughed and said "I didn't ask your complete address."

Kunj just looked at her then said "Go to your way."

Anika said "Bye....See you tomorrow in tuition."

She turned to her lane. He turned to his.

He reached home and put his bag on the table in his room and said to his mother

"Mummy, I am going to play cricket"

His mother said "Come back before your father comes to home"

Kunj already walked towards the main door said "yes I will be back in an hour."

While going to play he passed through the lane in which Anika went .

He thought 'Too much talkative, how can someone just talk to anybody you don't even know. Idiot girl."

Next morning Aggarwal's house

Kunj was getting ready for his first day at his new school

He said to his father "I need my uniform ready as soon as possible, it doesn't look cool to go in casual clothes to school."

His father replied while sipping tea "You refused to wear readymade uniform, it will take atleast two days to get your uniform stitched properly."

Kunj quietly eating breakfast

His father said "Don't create any mess in this new school. You have created enough mess to ruin my respect in last school. In this school, everyone knows me so you better behave like a good student not some goon."

Kunj said "Yes Papa"

He muttered in his mouth "I am a good student just can't let anyone boss me around"

His mother said to him "Don't fight with anyone and don't be friends with bad boys"

Kunj said "yes, yes , like your son is not bad enough 😁"

He left for school

He entered the school , already feeling like an alien coz of his casual clothes instead of uniform. He asked a man thinking he is peon .

"Uncle, where is 9th class."

The man looked at Kunj from head to toe and said "Are you a new student?"

Kunj nodded

The man replied him "1st floor, 3rd room to your left."

Kunj thanked him and went to his class . He looked around the room, it was still empty coz it's still time to start the first class .

He noticed that some boys were in a single row and girls were in other. Kunj asked a boy

"Which row is for boys"

That boy said "Sit anywhere, seats are not fixed yet."

Kunj sat at the last bench of the window side row. Habit of being backbencher.

The prayer bell ringed, all students started to move in a queue to go to the prayer ground.

He reached the ground and stood in his class group line

A teacher asked him about his uniform , Kunj said

"It's my first day here , I am new student." Teacher nodded and left .

After the prayer ended everyone moved in queues to go back to classes.

Kunj sat in his last bench in class near the window and saw a girl running in corridor. He looked outside and thought that girl looks like Anika.

He snapped out of his thoughts by the teacher's roll call

Kunj quickly said "Present ma'am."

Teacher asked him "Why are you siting in last bench? You are new student. You need to catch up the last week syllabus"

Kunj said "I will catch up in 2 days"

Teacher asked him "Where did you study till 8th class?"

Kunj told her his last school name.

Some students whisper "Oh....he is that Kunj...." , "How did he get addmission here"

Kunj ignored all of that , teacher looked at him like he is a criminal.

Kunj sat in his seat thinking 'here we go, Kunj Aggarwal famous again.'

Kunj talked to some boys asking about the last week's work. A boy, Sameer came to sit beside Kunj and said "give me your number, i will text you after reaching home, I will send you the photos of notes of all subjects"

Kunj said "fine , but this is my mother's number, don't send anything other than notes ."

By lunchtime Sameer became his friend and talking about Kunj's old school

In Lunchtime Kunj went to the water tap for water , he didn't had water bottle so he was drinking directly from the tap .

He caught someone looking at him in his peripheral vision , he turned his head and see Anika was standing there washing hands ,

Anika was staring at him

Kunj thought 'Am I drinking water from wrong tap' , till then the lunchtime was over , Anika has left to her class

Kunj sat back in his seat in classroom . He asked Sameer

"Are there more sections of 9th class " , Sameer said "Yes , This is section A, other one is section B"

Kunj said "and what's the difference" Sameer replied "Nothing, same teachers teach them too just there are more students, so divided into 2 sections"

After the school time ended

Kunj found Anika again while walking back to home, she was walking with her friends. When her friends left to their routes

Anika saw him and waved at him .

She said "Hello, wanna go back together?"

Kunj said "Hii... We are going same way , let's go"

Anika said "You are quite famous, everyone was talking about you in class saying you were kicked out from last school, is it true ?"

Kunj stopped walking and just looked at her thinking wheather to tell her or not.
